Rhea Ripley hasn’t been a very busy women’s champion. Since she beat Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 39, she’s only defended her title three times on TV. She will probably defend her title at SummerSlam, where her opponent has been teased as a 6-foot-tall superstar.
That’s Raquel Rodriguez, in case you were wondering. Even though plans can always change, Rhea Ripley hasn’t had anyone lined up to compete with her before the Biggest Party of the Summer. Backstage on RAW, the Women’s World Champion stopped the Women’s Tag Team Champions, Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan, who are no longer champions.
After being provoked, Rhea Ripley attacked Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. She beat them both, suggesting that they should fight at SummerSlam.
Soon after, Raquel Rodriguez went to the trainer’s room to get checked out, and it looked like Adam Pearce was about to call off the match.

Rodriguez insisted on keeping the match going because she didn’t want to repeat what happened when Liv Morgan got hurt and they had to give up the titles. Pearce finally gave in to her request.
Right after that, they put the Women’s Tag Team Titles on the line against Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville. Green and Deville took advantage of Rodriguez’s hurt leg to win the Women’s Tag Team Titles and become the new champions.
