MJF and Adam Cole challenged FTR for the world tag team titles on tonight’s (July 29) show of AEW Collision. The foes MJF and Cole became best friends by accident and won the Blind Eliminator Tag Team Tournament earlier this month, which led to this match.
Many people who like wrestling thought that MJF might turn on Cole if they lost this match. And the famous team did lose the match, but only after MJF saved Cole from FTR’s finishing move, the Shatter Machine. A short time later, Max was rolled up for the three count.

After the loss, MJF was very upset and blamed himself for losing the match. Cole tried to make him feel better by telling him that they both messed up. Cole took MJF’s fake AEW world title belt and gave it to Max to show him that he’s still the champion.
When Cole turned around, the big reveal of MJF hitting Cole with the belt happened. MJF was in place and ready to strike. Cole knew it was coming and told Max to do what he needed to do.
Max didn’t do it, though. He let go of the belt, and they both gave each other a very emotional hug.
