The ratings for the eighth AEW Collision program on TNT are in.
According to Wrestlenomics, the August 5 Collision attracted 417,000 viewers and received a.13 rating among viewers aged 18 to 49, placing it in 16th place on cable on Saturday night. In comparison to last week’s 739K viewers and 0.27 rating in the key demo, these figures dramatically collapsed.
With WWE SummerSlam and UFC on ESPN, we predicted that Collision would have a very difficult night in the ratings, and that’s precisely what happened. The viewership dropped to the lowest level in the show’s brief history, while the key demo rating fell by more than 50% from the previous week.
Tony Khan effectively accepted this level of opposition when he committed to a new AEW television program on Saturday nights. The Real World Championship bout between CM Punk and Ricky Starks was officiated by the legendary Ricky Steamboat, showing that AEW did not back down from this confrontation. There were four title matches on the schedule, none of which involved a title change. SummerSlam and UFC on ESPN, the latter of which drew in a 0.38 rating in the important demographic and more than one million people, still completely destroyed the show.

This Saturday, when CM Punk and FTR fight House of Black for the AEW global trios titles, AEW will attempt to bounce back aggressively.
