Despite being edited, the match between Eddie Kingston and Daniel Garcia delivered enough entertainment for the fans. On his latest podcast for Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer claimed that the match was edited on AEW Rampage.
For those in attendance at the match, it lasted around 22 minutes. But on television, the match only lasted around 13 minutes. This was due to time constraints.
On Wednesday (20 April) Eddie Kingston was caught by television cameras reconciling with Kevin Owens. Their encounter was later aired on the AEW video broadcast “ECW Uncut” two days later. As of late, Jericho Appreciation Society has been getting into physical battles with Santana and Ortiz from the “Pura Escalera” faction.
Kingston picked up the win against Garcia via his spinning back fist. This match made it apparent that other wrestlers were not allowed to be in the ring for this particular encounter. There was no word on what happened, but Kingston made it clear that he would save an “ass-whopping” for Chris Jericho in the future.
AEW hosted its AEW Rampage last week. This is likely the main reason why they had to edit a lot of matches. An episode had great moments featuring Adam Cole versus Tomohiro Ishii in an Owen Hart Foundation Qualifying match, which was won by the AEW star.
On top of that, Lance Archer won a squash battle against Sepentico in order to build up toward his upcoming AEW match with Wardlow. The main event saw Jade Cargill compete in her 30th wrestling match, continuing her undefeated record. She defeated Marina Shafir on TBS, defending her TBS Championship successfully.
