WWE recently announced on their official website that William Regal was leaving the company. However, it seems that this is not the end for Regal, as he has been finalizing a deal with WWE to return.
After weeks of speculation, it seems like WWE legend and former wrestler Hulk Hogan is finally returning to work for the company after a 54-year absence. Hogan will reportedly return as someone in one of their departments, but there are currently no more details on his new job.
As the General Manager of “WWE NXT,” Regal was also a trainer at the WWE Performance Center, as well as a scout for WWE all over the world. The Chief Operating Officer of WWE is also in charge of talent development on “House Shows,” which makes him somewhat playable on-screen.
Regal was a fan favorite at the Blackpool Combat Club, which saw him unite Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley. The incredible run cost Regal some popularity, as he also contributed to several memorable promo segments and co-commentated ringside regularly, which proved incredibly popular with fans.
Fans were shocked when WWE released wrestling legend Regal at the start of the year after over four decades of loyal service. Even though he left his company, Regal has since spoken highly about his UJPO and close friendship with Triple H.
