In a recent interview, AJ Styles was asked about how he felt sitting on the sidelines of WrestleMania weekend since undergoing a cardiac procedure and retiring from wrestling. His answer started off with reflecting.
Styles debuted with WWE at the 2016 Royal Rumble which apparently came to pass because of Triple H.
Styles’ WWE debut at the Royal Rumble seems to have come as a result of Triple H’s suggestion, as the commentator was the man who started the conversations.
Wrestling’s most notorious villain, Triple H, came out of nowhere last night at Wrestlemania and sent the WWE fans into a frenzy. The wrestling world has been completely enraptured by Triple H. When asked why Triple H is getting back into the ring after so many years away from competition, Wrestling Inc managing editor Nick Hausman sat down with wrestling‘s last great wrestler—AJ Styles—to discuss the long-awaited return.
AJ Styles thought about the fact that he had just retired during Mania weekend, reflecting on it again. The Game had been out of action since suffering a cardiac event recently.
Styles debuted at WWE’s 2016 Royal Rumble event where it was said that Triple H started the conversation by telling Vince McMahon; “Styles deserves a title shot.” Styles has been tearing up the competition ever since.
AJ Styles stated:
Yeah, Triple H was here, and I am glad to see him, man. You’ve got to think, when I think about his retirement I am here because of him. Because he called me, that’s huge for me.
Triple H was backstage at WrestleMania weekend when he got an emotional meeting with the WWE talent. The wrestlers were excited to see him again but also acknowledged Rhea Ripley’s admission that this meeting was when they found out they can make an additional profit outside of their contract. Triple H and AJ Styles shared the ring for a non-televised match before Hunter retired.
