Joe Joyce and Daniel Dubois are positioned as mandatory challengers for Oleksandr Usyk. But with Usyk expected to go straight into an undisputed championship fight with Tyson Fury next year, their promoter Frank Warren has encouraged Anthony Joshua to take them on.

Anthony Joshua’s return is now not expected until 2023, with rising British heavyweights Joe Joyce and Daniel Dubois being offered as electrifying challengers for the former world champion.
Joshua is known for staying undefeated for a lengthy period of time, but he’s run into some tough luck recently. With only two losses under his belt, it leaves him in a precarious position; but don’t worry – he’ll be at the ready in case Usyk falls!
Frank Warren has suggested either Joyce or Dubois – he promotes both – would be an ideal opponent.
Joyce Palmas has been knocking out all his opponents reeling off six wins in a row, and now he’s ready to take on Joseph Parker after knocking him out.
Joshua will do whatever it takes to again fight for a world championship. Joyce is the interim heavyweight champion, while Dubois is the regular heavyweight champion of the WBA. Both have the potential to provide dangerous opposition and a route back to a title shot.
“Now I’m going to be able to start throwing Daniel Dubois at him and Joe,” Frank Warren said.
“If he don’t fight one of them I think they’ll find it hard to sell anything and he can’t say, ‘Why should I do that?’. I’ll tell you why, he’ll become a mandatory.”
He added of Joshua: “He’s liable to get knocked over by anybody. I’d put any of my guys in with him. Any of them. Joe Joyce would knock him out and Dubois would do the same.”
