Prince Frederick, Maryland — Deputies apprehended a guy who had previously been forbidden from Safeway in Prince Frederick after observing him going through the store’s parking lot. Marvin Charles Dickerson Jr., 41, was arrested on February 25, 2025, when a Calvert County Sheriff’s deputy recognized him and established he had an active no-trespass order preventing him from the property.

Dickerson was first barred from entering Safeway on July 19, 2022, following an incident in which he was accused of disruptive conduct, theft, and violence. According to court papers, he took booze from ABD Liquors before going into Safeway, where he reportedly hit an employee in the face and stole their hat.

Deputies discovered him inebriated and uttering profanities, which resulted in his detention and a no-trespass order prohibiting him from returning.

This episode is part of a larger pattern of repeated infractions. On July 19, 2021, an off-duty officer witnessed Dickerson steal medication from the pharmacy area before escaping without payment.

Security footage showed him taking two boxes of Coricidin and subsequently confessed to deputies that he consumed them in the library toilet to get high. He was prosecuted with larceny under $100 and trespassing and was sentenced to probation.

However, he continually broke the terms of his probation, resulting in several court appearances and a brief jail.

On February 25, 2025, officers arrested Dickerson in the Safeway parking lot and brought him to the Calvert County Detention Center. He was charged with trespassing and freed on a $500 unsecured personal bail. His trial is set for March 27, 2025, at Calvert County District Court.

In Maryland, trespassing on private property is punishable by up to 90 days in prison and a $500 fine. Given his previous transgressions, the court may impose further penalties if he is found guilty.

Judge Robyn Riddle presided over Dickerson’s bail review hearing, which resulted in his release. This recent arrest adds to his lengthy record of trespassing infractions, theft, and disorderly behavior, raising concerns about repeat offenders and the execution of no-trespass orders.
