Details emerge about the private exchange between Joe Gacy and Ava Raine, leading to a transformative shift in WWE dynamics.
As the commander of the NXT faction Schism, Joe Gacy has aligned with Jagger Reid, Rip Fowler, and Ava Raine to redefine dominance on the developmental platform. Their presence has become an indomitable force, leaving others in their wake.
Speaking on the Out of Character platform, Gacy revealed a conversation with Ava that preceded their faction’s inception, when NXT carried a different aura. They envisioned a cult group, akin to a “House of a Thousand Corpses” family, shrouded in an eerie mystique.
“Funny story about Ava Raine. Before I even debuted on TV, she and I got together and came up with the idea of a cult group. Originally it was me, her, and this other guy. We were basically pitching for us to be, the original idea was to be this House of a Thousand Corpses family group with like a culty edge.”

However, the tides shifted with the advent of WWE’s NXT 2.0 under new management. Gacy recounted the moment Ava informed him of her decision to join the Schism, a plan they had discussed before.
“When it was just me, Rip, and Jagger, she actually came up to me in the PC one day and said, ‘Did you hear what’s gonna happen?’ I said, ‘No’ and she said, ‘I gonna join you guys.’ I said, ‘That’s awesome.’ Originally it was gonna be me and her trying to do something anyway. I’m glad it finally panned out on TV.”
Gacy Said, “My opinion, me and Bray Wyatt are very, very different. I don’t think we’re similar. Maybe the fact that we’re two gimmicks that are darker, I think that’s kinda where I see it,”.
During the same conversation, Gacy addressed parallels drawn between his character and Bray Wyatt’s in WWE. While both characters delve into darkness, Gacy emphasizes their distinctiveness, aiming to carve his unique identity beyond superficial comparisons.
