Since the start of 2025, ROH World Champion Chris Jericho has been embroiled in a heated rivalry with former champion Bandido. The two clashed over the title on the February 22 episode of “AEW Collision,” where Jericho successfully defended his championship.
However, “The Nueve” escalated the conflict by targeting Bandido’s brother, Gravity, humiliating him by stealing his mask and attacking him in front of their mother. This personal affront has set the stage for a high-stakes rematch for the ROH World Championship, which, according to Dave Meltzer on a recent “Wrestling Observer Radio,” is on the horizon.
“They’re either booking Jericho vs. Bandido at the Dynasty show or at Supercard of Honor, announced for May 2 in Atlantic City,” Meltzer reported. When it happens, it’ll mark their third singles encounter. Their first meeting, also for the ROH World Championship, occurred in September 2022—Bandido’s AEW debut—with Jericho emerging victorious then as well.
The feud could have kicked off earlier but was delayed by setbacks. Bandido returned to the ring at ROH Final Battle in December 2024 after an 18-month hiatus due to a severe wrist injury. However, while chasing Jericho, he suffered a concussion after a top-rope mishap, sidelining him for another month.
Since his recovery, Bandido has only lost once—to Jericho on February 22—and now stands on the brink of history, aiming to become just the eighth wrestler to win the ROH World Championship multiple times.
