It was reported that Vince McMahon had a line in the Money in the Bank commercial, which stated that the winners of the briefcases would get title shots at WrestleMania.
“Confused” as the announcers thought that a lot of the plans for Mania was still based on traditional Money in the Bank and Royal Rumble rules. It said they had no idea why had aired as commercials. And when it was made clear to them, they continued to air.
Nobody backstage in WWE knows why the ad that aired during WrestleMania Backlash was not edited shortly after it aired, especially after the internal clarification.
Some within the WWE maybe didn’t let others know of the potential rule change, with several higher-ups believing that isn’t the case.
It’s also possible that Vince McMahon might have decided to put the message in the Money In The Bank Commercial with the assumption it would sell more tickets.
