In the annals of WWE history, each performer has a unique journey filled with memorable moments, challenges, and, sometimes, unexpected encounters. Former WWE Diva Lena Yada recently shared a behind-the-scenes tale from her time in the wrestling world, shedding light on an amusing incident involving none other than the legendary Dave Bautista, widely known as Batista. Yada’s recollection provides a candid glimpse into the backstage dynamics of WWE during her tenure from November 2007 to November 2008.
During a recent interview, Yada reflected on her early days with WWE, specifically recalling an incident where she unintentionally overlooked Batista. As Yada described, the incident occurred on one of her first days with the company when she was navigating the intricate web of backstage interactions.
“I remember going through everybody and I wasn’t able to get to everybody before I got called in for my first interview, and lo and behold, who did I forget? Batista. He’s just waiting there on the sidelines. I’m like, ‘Awesome.’ I saw him kind of hovering, and when I was done, he was like, ‘Hey, come here.’ I was like, ‘Uh-oh.'”
In the fast-paced environment of WWE, where first impressions are crucial, Yada feared that her unintentional oversight might have a negative impact, particularly when dealing with a prominent figure like Batista. However, what could have been an awkward situation took an unexpected turn as Batista displayed kindness and humor in response to the situation.

“He was so kind. He goes, ‘I noticed you going around and I look up, and here’s a face I don’t recognize, I don’t see, and I find out from everyone you’re new.’ I said, ‘I’m so sorry, I saw you talking to Michael and I didn’t wanna interrupt, so I moved down and I got called into this.’ He is so sweet and so lovely and so funny, and I really appreciate that moment because it could have gone south really fast.”
Batista’s gracious handling of the situation turned what could have been an uncomfortable moment into a positive and memorable interaction for Yada. The story not only highlights the professionalism and understanding prevalent among WWE performers but also showcases the camaraderie that exists behind the scenes.
