Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. is back in the ring for an exhibition match in opposition to the undefeated Don Moore at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.
The combat went the distance and wasn’t judged to decide a winner. But in keeping with MMA Fighting, Mayweather had an outstanding showing in his first match since he fought former YouTube famous person, Logan Paul, in another exhibition last year.
The match featured 8 two-minute rounds. In the second round, Mayweather turned up his activity with more movement and footwork and completed it with a body shot and more than one jab.
Once Mayweather discovered his rhythm, Moore had a tough time finding him. The 45-year-old was elusive while pumping his jab. Moore controlled to land some shots, however, they did nothing to faze Mayweather.
After it was clear that Moore would not present any danger, Mayweather turned up the in-fight antics. He began out taunting and trash-talking Moore during the 6th round. He walked across the ring with a round card after which danced with a ring girl before the 7th.
Despite the intellectual warfare, Mayweather remained focused. He wobbled Moore in the 7th with a right hand behind the ear earlier than hurting him again right as the round ended. Mayweather dropped Moore with a body shot in the last round, however, Moore answered the 10-count and survived to the bell despite Mayweather’s efforts to complete the combat.
This was Mayweather’s third exhibition since he retired from professional boxing in 2017 following a knockout victory over UFC celebrity Conor McGregor, which drove his record to 50-0. After the match, Mayweather teased another combat in 2022.
