The anticipation for Dwayne Johnson’s return to the WWE has become an annual tradition for wrestling fans, with each passing year sparking hope and excitement. With SummerSlam just around the corner, WWE has dropped a teaser that alludes to the potential return of “The Rock,” once again igniting fans’ enthusiasm while also evoking a sense of caution due to past disappointments.
WWE shared a compilation video on their Instagram, showcasing various WWE stars attempting to perform The Rock’s iconic People’s Elbow move. Though none of them can match The Great One’s charisma, it’s amusing to see them put their unique spin on the move, leaving the WWE Universe hopeful yet wary.
The Rock’s rumored return has been the subject of much speculation, with previous expectations for his appearance at the 2023 Royal Rumble and later at WrestleMania 39 ultimately leading to disappointment. Reports indicated that Johnson was unable to get into ring shape, leaving fans disheartened once again.
However, in recent weeks, WWE has been teasing The Brahma Bull’s return by having Grayson Waller relentlessly taunt him. Johnson even responded to Waller’s jabs on Twitter, sparking further interest in a potential showdown. Waller, in an attempt to emulate The Rock, delivered a botched People’s Elbow on Jey Uso, adding fuel to the rumors of The Rock’s return.

The compilation video featuring stars like Grayson Waller, Ric Flair, Jey Uso, and Snoop Dogg performing The People’s Elbow only adds to the speculations surrounding his possible appearance at SummerSlam. While it seems likely, there’s also a possibility that WWE is playing a clever trick to hype up the event.
Dwayne Johnson’s last appearance on WWE TV was in 2019 when he returned to celebrate the 20th anniversary of SmackDown. He teamed up with Becky Lynch to lay the smackdown on Baron Corbin. Now, fans eagerly await to see if he will take Grayson Waller down the same path.
The WWE Universe has responded with excitement and hope to the video, with many speculating about The Rock’s return at SummerSlam. While some fans are cautious due to previous letdowns, others firmly believe that The Rock will make an appearance and create a memorable moment at the Biggest Party of the Summer.
As the wrestling legend continues with his busy schedule, fans will have to wait and see if he can find time for an impromptu match at SummerSlam, and whether the electrifying presence of The Rock will indeed grace the WWE ring once again.
Who even cares. If he does return he will have a 2 minute spot where he rock bottoms some turd….get on the mic and finally the rock has come back.. HOME. it’s been done by him already too many times. He’s got no love for the business anymore and you can see right through it. Can’t fake it. If there were ever a time for him to come back it would be now though. His movies bombing, that lawsuit that he is a part of, failed xfl, young rock getting scrapped, might need to promote another movie. No excitement anymore for The rock. Too phony.
