Last week, “WWE NXT” faced a decline in viewership due to the Independence Day holiday, resulting in its lowest viewership in almost four years on the USA Network. However, the show made a remarkable recovery this week, thanks to the main event featuring Finn Balor and Damian Priest, with Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio at ringside. Wrestlenomics, a popular source for wrestling data, tweeted and posted on its Patreon page that the July 11 episode of “NXT” garnered an impressive 671,000 viewers across two hours, marking a substantial 32 percent increase from the previous week. In the key demographic of adults aged 18 to 49, there was a notable rise of 54 percent, with a rating of 0.20 in P18-49.
Unfortunately, cable rankings were not available at press time, as the Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game aired on FOX, attracting a significant viewership of 7,006,000 and a rating of 1.61 in P18-49. Despite having fewer overall viewers (a 13 percent decrease) and a 15 percent decline in P18-49 compared to the high ratings of Seth Rollins’ appearance on June 20th, the numbers for this week’s “NXT” episode are undeniably excellent and should be considered a success.
To provide a comprehensive analysis, Wrestlenomics’ Patreon page compared the performance of “NXT” across various demographics to the figures from the preceding four weeks. While most demographics experienced an increase in viewership, there were slight decreases among men aged 18-34, adults aged 18-34, and women aged 35-49. On the other hand, the greatest percentage rise was observed among men aged 35-49 with a remarkable 71 percent increase, followed by adults aged 35-49 with a 47 percent rise, and women aged 18-34 with a 44 percent surge. Women aged 35-49 maintained a steady viewership. It’s worth noting that the only deviation within Nielsen’s ten percent margin of error was among viewers outside the 18 to 49 demographic, which saw a seven percent increase compared to the median.
Furthermore, according to the quarter-hour ratings reported by Wrestlenomics, the show reached its peak in total viewers during the final quarter, with 715,000 viewers tuning in to witness the exciting match between Finn Balor and Damian Priest against Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams. In terms of the P18-49 demographic, the highest viewership of 285,000 was recorded during the second quarter, featuring Drew Gulak and Charlie Dempsey facing off against Chase U.
