Cesaro (Claudio Castagnoli) is reportedly receiving offers from pro wrestling promoters. He has a significant asking price, which some might find difficult to match.
Back in late February, Cesaro quietly left WWE, ending his 11 year run with the company. However, he is free to sign with any promotion since he had no non-compete clause.
Cesaro has not accepted WWE offers and several promoters have tried to book him, but without response from Cesaro. Promotion notices went to Cesaro but he didn’t appear for any wrestling events.
Some promoters noted that Cesaro and Clowns have been unable to work together, because his current booking price was too high for them for now.
Word is circulating that some wrestlers have intentionally raised their asking price because of all the travel and working with multiple people. There’s no word yet on if Cesaro is one of them, which seems likely since he appears to be repped by the same person as Bray Wyatt and Mia Yim.
It looks like Cesaro could be a part of some Independent promotions this summer! After being in regular contact with The Swiss Superman, promoters believed they had a chance of getting him to sign an autograph.
Cesaro’s tweet hints that he and the wrestling promoters are nearing a deal
According to sources, WWE wanted to re-sign Cesaro but he and his agent could not come to terms on a new deal. It was also said that over the last 16 months, Cesaro had shown that he knew his value, so they weren’t going to get into an unfavourable position like they did in 2020. One source indicated that Cesaro and/or his team were very savvy in speaking with WWE officials when they offered the extension offer in 2021 and 2022.
