However, this encounter took an unexpected turn when a suicide dive by Escobar caused Mysterio’s head to collide with the floor, resulting in a legitimate injury.
Mysterio’s injury proved substantial enough to halt the match, subsequently crowning Escobar as the new number-one contender for Austin Theory’s United States Championship.
