Roman Reigns has been the top WWE star for more than a thousand days. In his record-setting rule, he has beaten so many stars that the list is almost too long to write down. So much so that he has to run laps around the roster and face celebrities he’s already beaten, including his own family members.
The Tribal Chief kept his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at SummerSlam by beating his cousin Jey Uso in a very important Tribal Combat. As with most of Roman Reigns’s matches, an outside force helped him win. This time, Jimmy Uso did something unexpected to help The Tribal Chief keep his title.
Now that Reigns is going to be on SmackDown this Friday, we need to look ahead to WWE Payback to see what’s next for The Head of the Table.
Here are three possible fights between Roman Reigns and other people before Payback 2023.

#3. Sheamus
One of the most well-known faces on the blue brand is the Celtic Warrior. Since he has been a regular part of WWE for well over a decade, the other wrestlers look up to him. Even though he has done a lot, the 45-year-old is still eager to do more.
Recently, the Brawling Brute has let his hunger almost turn into jealousy by shooting at The Tribal Chief several times. Sheamus told the Daily Mail that he thought The Bloodline’s plot was getting way too much TV time, which could have been used for other feuds.
“Obviously there’s the luxury of getting all the storyline time and everything. I feel like he’s made the most of the opportunity he’s had, but I feel like there’s guys on the roster begging for that amount of time to tell their own stories and that’s one of the only things that’s going.”
In the same story, he also said that before Roman Reigns got sick with COVID, no one cared about him.
“That makes a big star… let’s be honest, before he went away with COVID, people didn’t give a s**t about him. He was the big baby face who was wrestling Goldberg and nobody really cared.”

Sheamus is undoubtedly sowing the seeds for the revival of a long-standing rivalry with all of these shots.
#2. Solo Sikoa
The only thing that could hurt The Tribal Chief is his family. Roman Reigns’s ego has almost turned everyone in his family against him, and Solo Sikoa may have finally had enough of his cousin.

Near the end of the Tribal Combat, Reigns and Sikoa made a mistake that led to The Enforcer getting speared by the winner. Solo didn’t like this very much, so at the end of the match, he stared down the winner. It was a tense moment.
Solo Sikoa is the next natural step for Reigns to take as he tries to solidify his position as head of the Anoa’i family. He has already faced every other member of his faction.
#1. Roman Reigns vs. Bobby Lashley
Recently, The All Mighty came back to WWE programming with a few backstage bits with The Street Profits. Lashley seems to be making his own group, which might be strong enough to compete with The Bloodline. Roman Reigns has beaten a lot of people who will go on to be Hall of Famers, but Bobby Lashley is one of the biggest names that isn’t on that list.
With his new group, he wouldn’t have to worry about the numbers game. Instead, there would be a full-scale war both inside and outside the ring.
WWE is running out of good opponents for the king at this point. Bobby Lashley is a new rival for Roman, and he also gives us a MEGA match because he is a real threat to Roman’s rule.
