Arm wrestling was recently treated with the much-awaited, and the biggest Arm Wrestling Match between two of the strongest athletes in the sport- Devon Larratt and Michael Todd. Touted as the “King of the Table” event, the battle took place on 28 May at Conrad Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
Devon Larratt avenged his 2018 loss to Michael Todd with a unanimous decision victory in the climactic main event of “No Limits”. Larratt is currently unbeaten, winning each one of his last 10 matches, and is considered the top MMA fighter in the world.
Now, an opponent for Larratt has arisen, and his name is Levan Saginashvili, Georgia’s strongman arm wrestling champion.
A seven times World Arm wrestling Champion (WAF), six times European arm wrestling champion, Top eight winner of 2019, and the World Cup 2017 champion, Levan Saginashvili is a heavyweight name in the European arm wrestling circuit that many revere.
The Georgian-born wrestler is an imposing 6 foot 3 inches and weighed 170 kgs as of recent, but his nickname “The Georgian Hulk” is appropriate since he’s also known to bring an attitude to the table. Dedicated fans know that Levan has achieved much in arm wrestling, and have been anticipating what he will achieve in partnership with other top competitors in the sport.
With the conclusion of Devon Larratt vs. Michael Todd, the sport has a new master who has regained his place on the throne in arm wrestling. Larratt exploded and decisively won the match in a way that was believed to be neck-to-neck. He is now challenging Levan. This could be the biggest match in the sport’s history to date.
Recently, popular arm wrestler Ryan Blue Bowen has revealed that he and Levan Saginashvili have talked on Instagram. On the social media platform, a Georgian player expressed his desire to take on Devon Larratt.
Bowen took to the issue on his YouTube channel, where in one recent video he asked Levan if he planned to face off with ‘No Limits’.
Levan also nods in agreement and affirms that though he thinks Larratt might not be as good as Michael Todd, he tries to hope for the best when high-ranking personnel becomes troubled.
