Next week on NXT, Dominik Mysterio will defend his NXT North American Championship against Dragon Lee. The 26-year-old star could lose his title, though, if Rey Mysterio gets in the way.
Dragon Lee got in the way of Dominik and Rhea Ripley in the most recent show of NXT. The 28-year-old star asked “Dirty” Dominik to fight for the gold, and the winner agreed. Rhea Ripley said that she would be at the match with her stablemate, and Lee said that Rey Mysterio would be in his corner next week on NXT.

Given that, it’s not impossible that the Hall of Famer will play in the match. The writers could have Ripley and Dominik cheat during the race, but Rey could stop them and even things out.
The 15-time winner could make himself known in the match that would cost Dominik his title. Then, this possible angle could set up a fight between Lee & Rey and The Judgment Day.

Dominik Mysterio recently told the truth about his decision to skip NXT and go straight to the main roster when he joined WWE. The current NXT North American Champion talked to The Metro and said:

“I think there’s definitely pros and cons to it, depending on how you look at it. I was blessed and very fortunate to be in the position that I’m in. I think just the way that I came about it, and the people that I was surrounded with, I just don’t think it made sense [to go to NXT], especially with who I was gonna learn from.”
The Judgment Day member claimed that making his main roster debut gave him the opportunity to train alongside seasoned professionals like Edge and John Cena.
“Coming in with my first match against Seth and then carrying on to work with Baron Corbin and Sami Zayn during the pandemic, to where once the pandemic was over, I started working with John Cena, Roman Reigns, The Usos, and Edge! You can’t get any better than that.”
