Welcome to another episode of the daily WWE News Roundup, where we tell you about the biggest stories from the world of sports entertainment. Some of the big names in today’s news roundup are Ricochet, Austin Theory, Roman Reigns, and Chad Gable.
Speaking of Austin Theory, the US Champion didn’t win the Slim Jim SummerSlam Battle Royal. It was another bad thing for The Unproven One, who hasn’t done much of note lately.
But Theory recently talked about reports that Triple H is going to kill him. So, let’s not waste any more time and look at the most important news from WWE today.
#5. Austin Theory sets the record straight about Triple H burying him
Vince McMahon made sure that when US Champion Austin Theory went to Monday Night RAW, he got off to a good start. He became Vince’s on-screen student and won a lot of big matches before he won the US Championship.

But fans have seen Theory get into a lot of boring fights in the past year. This was especially true after the Chairman quit in July 2022 and the US winner went on a two-month losing streak.
In a recent chat with The Babyfaces Podcast, Theory set the record straight about Triple H burying him. He put an end to the reports by saying that people on the internet are never happy.
“We all know on the internet, it’s tomorrow you can be the greatest thing in the world, and the next day you could suck. You know, I remember a time that the internet said, ‘Man, this guy, he’s getting buried. He loses every match.’ When’s the last time I lost a match? And people still have something to say now. So, to me, as long as there’s something said, I’m doing what I need to do. But if there’s nothing being said, then there’s a worry there because people say your name for a reason whether it’s good or bad,” he said.
Austin Theory’s time as US Champion hasn’t been the most exciting. But now that he has the title, he is breaking some records and has beaten big names like Seth Rollins, Edge, and Sheamus.
#4. Ricochet names his favorite WWE Superstar of all time.
At this year’s SummerSlam, Ricochet faced Logan Paul in a fight that was a big deal. Even though The One and Only lost the race, he showed that he is one of the most athletic men in sports entertainment today.

Ricochet may be one of the best high flyers in the business, but his favorite WWE star is not a luchador, which is a bit of a surprise. During the SummerSlam weekend, The One and Only told Dr. Chris Featherstone and Bill Apter that his favorite WWE Superstar is the actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
He did say, though, that Razor Ramon is his favorite Intercontinental Champion. What he said is as follows:
“My all-time favorite Intercontinental Champion? I mean, The Rock is my all-time favorite wrestler. So, but as far as all-time favorite Intercontinental Champion, maybe Razor,” said Ricochet.

After his great show at SummerSlam, the creative team could give The One and Only a good push. He is one of the best good guys in WWE right now.
#3. Chad Gable says Alpha Academy’s application is a secret
On WWE RAW, Chad Gable has been a good leader of Alpha Academy. Gable has been able to get Alpha Academy into some good fights and rivalries over the past few months, even though he doesn’t have a championship belt.
Before Maxxine Dupri, Otis was the first person to join Gable’s team. Chad Gable and Otis told in an interview that it is hard to join Alpha Academy.
Gable also said that applicants have to dig up a secret application, which only Otis and Maxxine have been able to do.
“Well, there’s a secret application online, and only two people have found it. Maxxine and Otis. An applicant’s job is to dig that up. If Otis can find it, how hard could it be? But not until I receive that application that we start the process,” said Chad Gable.
#2. Summer Rae wants to fight one last time in WWE.
Summer Rae had a pretty good run in WWE, where she worked for about six years. Fans saw her work with Fandango for a long time, and the two of them were great together on screen.
Before Natalya left WWE, the 39-year-old had a fierce feud with her. Last year, she came back for one match at the Royal Rumble and went straight for Natalya.
Summer Rae told Chris Van Vliet in an interview that she and Natalya were real-life friends. She also said that she would be ready for The Queen of Harts to come back for one last battle.
“Before Nattie leaves wrestling we have to have our feud. Like she absolutely crushed her match with Rhea and it was so good. Nattie is such a good trainer, and I think that’s the one thing that people don’t know about her, is she’s so patient. And when you’ve wrestled decades and it’s just in your blood, how can you not,” she said.
It would be great to see the 39-year-old back in the ring one day. WWE could even focus on the feud as WrestleMania 40 approaches.
#1. A veteran of WWE talks about the possibility of managing Rome rules.
Roman Reigns is one of the best wrestlers of this age. The Tribal Chief has built a kingdom around himself, and for more than three years, he has worked very well with Paul Heyman.
Heyman may be the best fit for Reigns right now, but if he changes his image, WWE may look for other options. Former wrestler Jimmy Hart talked about the idea of replacing Heyman as Reigns’ boss.
Hart is great at what he does, but he thinks he might not be as good at working with Roman Reigns as Heyman is. In a recent episode of the Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling show, he said something.
“First of all, he [Roman Reigns] does a great job, and Paul [Heyman] fits him so greatly, Paul fits him to a T. I think my character’s a little bit too over-the-top for that because I’m more like, ‘Whoa! Hey baby! How you doing!?’ That’s always been my thing. Up-tempo, never kind of laid back, and I just kind of think Roman does such a great job along with Paul together, and they really fit good together,” the WWE veteran said.
After an amazing match with Jey Uso at SummerSlam, Roman Reigns held on to his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. He is very likely to keep his title for a very long time. As long as the Tribal Chief is the winner, fans can expect to see Paul Heyman by his side.
