Tonight on Impact Wrestling, an iconic performer will say goodbye to Impactwrestling.
Want To Know More About: Impact Wrestling
W. Morrissey has left Impact wrestling, effective immediately. As such, his final appearance in the company was on tonight’s episode of “Impact Wrestling” and his team took on Moose and Steve Maclin.
PWInsider points out that “last week, Morrissey was on AEW’s debut show XXX: The Experience, which could suggest a contract with that promotion.”
After Morrissey’s match with Wardlow, WWE officials were impressed, indicating they may be interested in bringing Morrissey back to the company. Morrissey worked for WWE from 2011 to 2018 as Colin Cassidy and later simply as Big Cass, part of a tag team with former WWE star Enzo Amore.
The two were very popular during “NXT,” and continued to team on the main roster, though they never won a tag team championship. Morrissey eventually turned on Amore, splitting the team in half. He was reportedly released for personal conduct issues, which allegedly included public intoxication and an incident where he directly contradicted Vince McMahon’s orders in a match in 2018.
John Morrissey’s wrestling career was crashing with alcohol addiction, but now he is back in the ring fighting with Impact. He was popular when he joined because of his successful comeback to a wrestling show.
