Gerald Brisco and Ric Flair have known each other for many years, with Brisco calling Flair one of his “longest-running friends.”
Flair recently confirmed that he is set to make his in-ring return next month for Starrcast’s Jim Crockett promotion. However, with the debut of Brisco last night on SKW, he has confirmed to Sportskeeda Wrestling that despite being good friends with Flair and a huge fan of his, he will not be watching his final match.
“I’m not gonna watch it,” Brisco stated. “I’ll tune into the internet but I’m not going to contribute by watching it. My thoughts and prayers are with Ric Flair and I hope, he’s got a d*mn pacemaker, you know, and it worries me. I’ve talked to doctors and, you know, a certain bump in the wrong direction or a certain chop or something like that, that thing can dislodge and he can drop dead.”
In his first retirement match, Flair lost to Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 24 following Sweet Chin Music and failure to retire. Following this “retirement,” Flair wrestled four matches during a tour for Hulk Hogan, more than 12 matches in wrestling company TNA, and another 18 matches over the next two years.
For Flair, the last match was in TNA and it took him just over 15 minutes to be put away by Sting. Ever since 2011, Flair has been dealing with multiple health issues and he even went into a medically-induced coma back in 2017.
Bobby Lashley has been training with current AEW star Jay Lethal to prepare for his in-ring return. Lashley has been seen taking a body slam, coming off the top ropes, etc.
In June 2000, Brisco last wrestled for WWE at the King of the Ring Pay-Per-View where he took on Pat Patterson. The two went to a no-contest in what was an Evening Gown match. On July 22 2019 Reunion episode of Monday Night Raw, Brisco also held the 24/7 Championship defeating Pat Patterson for it.
