Rhea Ripley, the powerhouse of WWE’s Judgment Day faction, owes a significant portion of her success to none other than the legendary WWE Hall of Famer, Edge. While the alliance between Ripley and The Eradicator has proven fruitful for both parties, it all began with Edge recognizing her potential to thrive within the faction. However, their journey together has a deeply emotional aspect that many fans might not be aware of.
Ripley recently expressed her gratitude to the 49-year-old wrestling icon and revealed her heartfelt reaction to his retirement in 2011.
A Tearful Farewell to Edge
Despite the recent turbulence within Judgment Day, the faction maintains a dominant presence on the WWE roster, with Finn Balor officially leading the charge. Yet, it is Rhea Ripley who plays a crucial role in keeping the group united. Her connection with Edge dates back to when he recruited her into the faction alongside Damian Priest in the spring of 2022.

However, their history goes even further back. Ripley vividly remembers the emotional impact of Edge’s initial retirement in 2011.
In a poignant reflection, The Eradicator confessed, “When he had to retire the first time, to be honest, I cried. I bawled my eyes out… I was extremely sad… I called my mom into my bedroom, and I was like, ‘I’m never gonna see Edge wrestle again.'” She shared this during an interview with India Today when WWE visited India.
Ripley added, “It was really cool to then fast forward into the future and be in a faction with Edge where he recruited me.”
The Future of Edge’s WWE Career
After concluding his second run with WWE a few weeks ago, speculation has been rampant about the Hall of Famer’s next move. This speculation intensified after his appearance in an introductory video for the blue brand. Fans are eager to know if a third WWE run is on the horizon for Edge.
