Favorites to Watch
Besides the three athletes that are probably going to be competing in Portugal, here are 3 more athletes who could make waves.
Andrea Presti
Presti has successfully defended the Slam title in 2021 and is the defending champion at this contest. He’s won just one pro tournament throughout his career, which is a win at the New York Pro in 2021 and his first victory at a pro event. In 2022, he tied-for-second place in New York Pro and Orlando Pro; tied for seventh place in California State Pro.
The Orlando show is about one week before the contest in Portugal. If he can maintain his physical conditioning during travel, he will be in prime condition to go back-to-back.
Tim Budesheim
Budesheim ran against Presti in 2021 and is preparing for his first competition of the season in 2022. Budeshiem, whose name became popular with fans as a result of this contest, may come back ready to compete even harder in 2022.
The matchup between Budesheim and Presti will be an interesting one. Budesheim has good proportions, and his overall symmetry creates the best physique in this show. If Budesheim can rid himself of the excess water on his skin to make him appear as defined as possible, he stands a good chance of taking this crown.
Andrea Muzi
Muzi placed fourth in the California Pro back in May of 2022. Muzi is still looking for his first pro win and an Olympia debut, but he’s been involved in some close matches so far.
Muzi was bigger than in years past when he competed in San Diego, CA. He will need to be shredded to have a chance to win this show. He’s certainly capable of that and the other contenders should not sleep on him.
