Cesaro was initially scheduled to attend Friday’s SmackDown held in Hershey, PA, but it appears he won’t be following because the organization no more employs him.
It was noted that WWE and Cesaro were in talks over contracts but could not agree on a new agreement.
He is free to sign any deal he wishes to because any non-compete agreement does not bind him because of the contract’s expiration.
He wrestled last on February 11 of SmackDown, in which he lost against Happy Baron Corbin. The Swiss Superman only wrestled in five times in 2022. He lost all of them when he teamed up with Ricochet to lose against Sheamus as well as Ridge Holland at WWE Day 1 as well as teaming with Mansoor to take the Fatal 4 Way loss to The Viking Raiders on the January 14 SmackDown together with Ricochet to win 2 Day 1 rematch losses on the January 28 and February 4 SmackDown shows, followed by the loss on February 11 to Corbin.
Cesaro, aged 41, joined WWE in 2011 following his success with The Indie Network and ROH. He departs WWE as a five-time WWE/RAW Tag Team Champion. Cesaro is a two-time SmackDown Tag Team Champion and a single-time WWE United States champion. He also took the first Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 30 in 2014. There’s no word about whether Cesaro is interested in AEW, Impact Wrestling, or NJPW,
