AEW has announced that Okada will face Page for the AEW World Championship next. Okada dropped his title to CM Punk at Double Or Nothing, but he’s now set for a rematch in another major match.
Page was not on “AEW Dynamite” this week and lost, but he will be in the action next week, facing New Japan’s David Finlay in singles. The last time they competed against each other, Page came away with the victory.
Punk has been confirmed to put the AEW World Title on the line in a match against Tanahashi. While it hasn’t been announced by either company, the New Japan star appeared on “AEW Dynamite” when Punk demanded to know who he would be facing at their show.
So far, no one else has been announced for the show, but it sounds like FTR would love to fight Jeff Cobb and Great-O-Khan if they had their way. FTR alluded to their feud with Jaxon Steele on “Ring Of Honor Wrestling” back in April.
There has been a large amount of attention towards the show since it was announced, and tickets to the event sold out immediately. To try and accommodate all of the people who want to be there, AEW opened up more seats behind the stage can take the total capacity to over 17.5k.
The “AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door” pay-per-view is scheduled for Sunday, June 26 from the United Center in Chicago, IL.
