The 16 times World Champion John Cena’s contribution to WWE cannot be undervalued because John Cena was the main WWE face during that PG Era. He was a babyface the whole time and never turned a heel. It appears Cena has an interesting perspective of a heel turn, as well.
John Cena showed he could be a good heel by demonstrating the Doctor of Thuganomics gaggle, but WWE did not pull the trigger after Cena became the company’s spokesperson. Vince McMahon was even proud of not allowing Cena to have his ideas for his heel turn.
In an interview with GQ, John Cena stated that he believes there are 10 years of stories to tell when WWE eventually decides to pull the trigger and makes him into a heel.
“Would it have been great to be able to mess with the flaws of WWE John Cena? Oh my goodness, I think there’s another 10 years’ worth of story in there, but it’s not my choice. I don’t run the company.”
The legendary Jim Ross couldn’t accept the fact that John Cena never turned heel but it’s a fact that professional wrestlers and fans alike must accept at the moment because John Cena is unlikely ever to become a heel.
