John Morrison has gone by numerous names throughout his career, including Johnny Impact, Johnny Mundo, Johnny Nitro, John Hennigan, and John Superstar for Lucha Libre AAA. It’s only natural that The Mayor of Slamtown will add a new name to his impressive resume.
As was announced through GCW superstar Gringo Loco earlier this morning, John Morrison will now take part in the GCW’s The Wrld On Lucha event that will be an element of the GCW’s The Collective during WrestleMania weekend. The show will feature Morrison will wrestle under the name of Johnny Caballero, which translates to Gentlemen. There’s no information about whom Johnny Caballero will be wrestling at The Wrld On GCW.
In official terms, Johnny Caballero will be the 13th name John Morrison has used since the 2002 debut of his career following the time he and former Matt Cappotelli won the third season of WWE Tough Enough.
The Wrld On Lucha match will also be Morrison’s first appearance after the WWE debut in November. Morrison’s first fight back last week during AAA Rey de Reyes. AAA Rey de Reyes, in which he was unsuccessfully battling Hijo del Vikingo to win an AAA Mega Championship.
Alongside Johnny Caballero, other names that have been announced to be part of the show Wrld On Lucha include Gringo Loco, who is working on this show together. Drago Kid, AAA star Pagano as well, as Laredo Kid. Loco also announced the latter.
The names of more contestants are likely to be announced in the coming days. The show will be broadcast on FITE TV at 9:30 p.m. ET on April 1 from Fair Park in Dallas, Texas. Tickets go on sale on Friday, February 25.
