On the said day, the Elite Wrestling team has been looking for a leader who hasn’t been seen in a long time.
Kenny Omega has been going through a rough time, but he’s been trying to rally for survival and recover from an assortment of injuries. The former AEW World Championship is prone to saying that one more injury could lead to his retirement. Meanwhile, Tony Khan is struggling with the idea of Kenny Omega not being healthy as well.
“I’m always concerned whenever a wrestler has an injury,” Khan said. “But, in Kenny Omega’s case, he carried the load through more injuries than probably anyone I’ve seen.”
Remarkably hopeful, Khan said “I’m not sure he is” as if he still hopes that Kenny will come back.
Despite Omega’s pessimism, Khan refused to give up hope. “I’m going to do fine,” said Omega. “I think he is going to be good. He will do well.”
Omega hasn’t wrestled since November of last year when he lost the AEW World Championship to “Hangman” Adam Page. In these following months, it’s been revealed that Omega has been dealing with a history of injuries, including vertigo, and was doing his best in adjusting his matches accordingly.
With the help of Omega’s personal blog, Khan has seen the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion post about his recovery journey. He believes that Omega is committed to getting back into the ring, even though he doesn’t understand what Omega would feel like to be in such a situation.
Khan said, “I know he’s been through a lot but I know he’s still trying to get back,”
