In the world of WWE, Canadian wrestler Kevin Owens has left an indelible mark with his incredible career journey. From claiming the World Tag Team championship to gracing the grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania, Owens’ achievements have been nothing short of awe-inspiring. However, despite the numerous accolades and triumphs, the future of the 39-year-old within WWE now appears uncertain, as he has only 18 months left on his current contract.
“I look at things and I don’t know where I stand going beyond the next year and a half. I know I want to be involved in wrestling. I know I want to be involved in the WWE and I know I have a place here. I just don’t know where it is exactly. Maybe it’s still in the ring, maybe it’s not. I don’t know,” Kevin Owens revealed during an interview with the Toronto Sun.
In a recent interview, Owens candidly expressed his feelings about the path that lies ahead. While he is certain about his desire to remain involved in wrestling and within the WWE, the exact role and direction seem unclear to him. He contemplates whether it will still be inside the wrestling ring or perhaps in a different capacity altogether.
“I think for the next year and a half, my focus is just on enjoying everything I do as much as possible. There’s not really a worry about winning a title or main-eventing WrestleMania or any of that stuff anymore, which are the dreams that everybody has because I’ve been so blessed and I’ve gotten to do all of that. So, I just want to have fun and I want to give people fun times to remember me by,” Owens added.

As Owens reflects on the next year and a half, he acknowledges that his focus has shifted. It’s no longer just about achieving more titles or headlining WrestleMania – he has already been blessed with those opportunities. Instead, his main aim now is to savor every moment of his WWE journey and create lasting memories filled with joy and excitement for the fans.
Currently, Owens finds himself sidelined due to an injury sustained during an electrifying NXT North American Championship match between his friend Sami Zayn and Dominik Mysterio. Despite this setback, he remains determined to make the most of his time in WWE.
Owens’ injury comes at a crucial juncture, potentially impacting the possibility of defending the Undisputed Tag Team Championships at this year’s SummerSlam, scheduled for August 6.
Looking back at his storied career, Owens burst onto the scene at NXT TakeOver: R Evolution, quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with. Over time, he claimed the NXT Championship after defeating his current tag team partner, Sami Zayn. His transition to the main roster was equally impactful, marked by a monumental victory against John Cena. The Canadian powerhouse went on to secure several prestigious WWE titles with his spectacular performances.
However, perhaps the most memorable moment of his career took place at WrestleMania, where he squared off against none other than WWE Hall of Famer, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.
