Stadtlander made her debut for All Elite Wrestling (AEW) on November 19, 2019, competing in a tag team match alongside Big Swole against Riho and Britt Baker on Dark, where Stadtlander and Swole lost. Following her signing with AEW in December, Stadtlander defeated Baker on Dynamite in December to become the No. 1 contender for the AEW Women’s World Championship.
On December 20, she appeared for Create A Pro Wrestling, where she trained. On the January 8, 2020, episode of Dynamite, Stadtlander faced Riho for the AEW Women’s World Title but was defeated by Brandi Rhodes, Awesome Kong, Mel, and Luther who interacted.

Some Facts
Her career as an independent wrestler has been successful
AAWvia Kris Statlander
Although Statlander began wrestling in 2016, she signed with AEW in 2019, but in the meantime, she had built a very successful independent wrestling resume. To name just a few of her accomplishments, she has won the CAP Television Title, the AAW Women’s Championship, and the WSU World Championship.
Even though she hasn’t won any championships in her permanent home of AEW yet, she will undoubtedly climb the ranks at some point to win either the AEW Women’s Championship or TBS Title.
Origins of the Alien Gimmick
It is not uncommon for wrestling gimmicks to have some interesting and obscure origins, but Statlander’s is quite simple – ‘The Galaxy’s Greatest Alien’ is based on her love of science. As a science nerd, Statlander has revealed that she is billed from the Andromeda Galaxy, which is a personal passion of hers.
With her gimmick, she has a number of creatively named moves, such as the Area 451 Splash, and the Big Bang Theory. With her character not really clicking to begin with due to the fact that it didn’t really make much sense, as many wrestling gimmicks do, her gimmick is taken more tongue and cheek now than it was at the start of AEW. However, as part of The Best Friends, the silliness of an alien character concept fits in much better.
In the PWI 100, 26th place
In addition to the top 500 male wrestlers, Pro Wrestling Illustrated also publishes the top 100 female wrestlers every year. Even though Statlander missed part of her season due to injury, she ended up finishing number 26 in 2021, placing her in the top echelon of female athletes worldwide.
Because the PWI rankings are mainly based on kayfabe, it is difficult to determine how impressive it is to be ranked highly, but regardless, it is still an honour to be ranked highly. Also, with Statlander’s impressive wins and losses throughout the year, it shows how much AEW is backing him as a performer.
Her age is 26
In AEW, there are quite a few young wrestlers with important roles. Names like Jungle Boy and Darby Allin have shown that getting over isn’t a waiting game.
Despite being 26 years old as of this writing, Kristin Statlander is another young star who proves her skill set. The birthday of Statlander just passed as she was born on August 7, 1995. It is important for AEW to strike a balance between seasoned veterans, top stars, and newcomers.
The first female to graduate from a respected wrestling school
MJF, Max Caster, and Bear Bronson are a few AEW names that have been trained at Create-A-Pro wrestling school, which is a joint venture between WWE producer Pat Buck and Impact Wrestling star Curt Hawkins/Brian Myers.
Create-A-Pro certainly has a presence in AEW, and Kris Statlander is the most successful graduate after MJF in getting a start in the industry.
Background checks ended WWE talks
Before signing with AEW, WWE saw Kris Statlander’s potential. In order to lose to the Iiconics, WWE used Statlander as an enhancement talent. The match led WWE to offer Statlander an NXT contract.
The WWE background check flagged a few social media posts, as Statlander explained. WWE slowed down their process in looking into her past and AEW came up with a stronger offer to sign her away. Statlander explained that the search is detailed and found terms of weapons that were used during her stunt work. With her success in AEW, a run in NXT may not have been the best route anyway.
The height of the woman is 5’9″
There are a couple of names within or taller than Kris Statlander’s height in AEW, but Statlander has the height advantage in most matches.
The rare instance when a face character has the advantage can detract from the underdog nature. However, Statlander’s character work is so effective that she usually gets the audience on her side.
Outside of the ring, massage therapist
Statlander went to school to become a massage therapist and was just beginning that phase of her career when she signed with AEW instead of waiting for her WWE contract background check.
Her role in AEW allows her to focus on wrestling as well as building her massage business outside of wrestling. Statlander was just out of school when she received her degree, and she didn’t want to lose that aspect of her life.
Before wrestling, I worked in stunt double fields
While Statlander’s athleticism and ability to deal with pain play an important role in her success in wrestling, she needed the same traits in the stunt field.
Several wrestlers have attempted to work as stunt doubles in movies and television shows either before or after their career. Finding a job outside of wrestling can be difficult for someone who has such a specific experience, but stunt work is a perfect fit. It is true that wrestlers have lives outside of wrestling, and this could certainly be an option for her if she ever steps away from the squared circle.
The original pairing between Tony Khan and Orange Cassidy was canceled
By taking risks with their characters, the sketch show helped SCU, Dark Order, and Adam Page advance their careers. AEW lets the Young Bucks run the weekly YouTube vlog Being the Elite. Throughout BTE, Orange Cassidy and the Best Friends were a constant, and Kris Statlander eventually joined them. It was common for Statlander to interact with Cassidy with her alien gimmick during the comedic moments.
Khan revealed he was clear this would not be a television angle until Statlander returned from her injury. Khan even admitted to not getting Cassidy at first.
Caleb Konley, fellow wrestler
AEW‘s relationship with Impact Wrestling may lead Kris Statlander and her boyfriend Caleb Konley to work together in the future.
Statlander and Konley’s relationship began a few years ago, and both have seen positive changes in their lives and careers since then.
