WWE legendary John Cena is set to play a leading role in an action-comedy film named Officer Exchange as reported by Deadline.
The report stated that Cena will portray:
Shepard Shep, an exploding ball of a police officer who teams up together with one Indian police officer to hunt off a diamond smuggling ring within India.
Cena is also named executive producer of the new Amazon Studios title. Peacemakerproducers Peter Safran from EP Productions and John Rickard of The Safran Company will produce the series.
The screenplay for the upcoming Cena film is composed by Ben Zazove and Evan Turner who wrote for the Netflix Happy Madison comedy movie The Out-Law. Zazove also wrote for Paramount’s Sherlock Gnomes.
Cena has earned a lot of praise from critics for his role as the role of Peacemaker on his role in the HBO Max series. In a conversation with The magazine the UK, Cena admitted that he would rather be the WWE Superstar “every single day.”
Cena said:
I miss it every day. Every single day. But I’ll be 45 on April 23rd, and I was very fortunate to make it as long as I did with only a minor list of injuries. Nothing that has changed the trajectory of my long term health. I’m strong, flexible, and in really good shape externally, internally. I think now, being a full-time touring performer might start to hit that point of diminishing returns, and I have to be realistic when I look at that.
John Cena did not work on the main event at the upcoming WrestleMania 38. Cena has been absent from WWE TV since losing to Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at SummerSlam in August.
