Concerns emerged throughout the weekend after it appeared that Rey Fenix might have suffered some injury during “AEW Rampage.” Dave Meltzer, who is covering “Wrestling Observer Radio,” has confirmed that Fenix seems fine in the latest episode.
Last Friday’s show was taped after the show on Wednesday and saw the Lucha Brothers compete against Private Party in the main event. Unfortunately, Fenix could be visibly limping during the match and was due to rolling his ankle following an atomic drop from one of the competitors.
That is a good sign that Stewart’s injury isn’t something too serious. That is a positive for AEW considering how many top names are currently on the shelf on the roster right now. From when Kenny Omega had issues that led to his lengthy time off, and CM Punk and Bryan Danielson remained out of action, it has been stretched quite a bit.
Fenix will not be competing against the AFW for these two episodes that are slated to air, but there is a chance we could see him on “AEW Dynamite” or “AEW Rampage” in the future. In the meantime, he will be present at “Starrcast V” at Starrcast 5 this weekend.
The main event will feature Rey Mysterio and Andrade El Idolo facing Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett, but there is a stacked undercard with talents from many different promotions. Fenix will be in a fatal four-way against Bandido, Taurus, and Laredo Kid
