On Wednesday, March 19, at 6:54 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to a house fire on Bean Family Lane in California, as reported by the Maryland State Fire Marshal.

According to investigators, the fire originated in the kitchen and was first spotted by the homeowner’s son, who detected smoke and acted swiftly to control the flames before professional help arrived.

Crews from the Bay District Volunteer Fire Department responded promptly, arriving within minutes and successfully extinguishing the fire, confining the damage to the kitchen area.

The homeowner, Connie Bean, and her son experienced smoke inhalation and were airlifted to MedStar Washington Hospital Center for medical attention, authorities confirmed.

The fire, deemed accidental by officials, resulted in approximately $20,000 in damages.
