WWE held their latest pay-per-view/premium live event on Sunday, June 5, as Hell In A Cell aired from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois. The show featured the usual Raw announce team of Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, and Byron Saxton but the SmackDown broadcast pairing of Michael Cole and Pat McAfee wasn’t at full strength, with McAfee missing from the event.
Speaking on his show, McAfee revealed why he was absent from Hell In A Cell. McAfee said:
“I was not at Hell in a Cell, SmackDown only had one match and all parties agreed that it was probably not worth the trip to Chicago and back for that. It ended up being a 13-minute match,”
That sole SmackDown bout became Madcap Moss vs. Happy Corbin in a No Holds Barred Match. Moss in the end exacted revenge on his former pal after he drilled the metal steps right into a metal chair that became around Corbin’s neck earlier than Madcap including the previous United States Champion for the win. Michael Cole and Raw‘s Corey Graves have been on observation for the suit because of McAfee’s absence.
“A man last night went into Hell in a Cell with a torn tit, Cody Rhodes went in there…a lot of people thought it was makeup, that’s what your body does when you tear your shit. Early, it looked like he was in a shit ton of pain. but he clicked into some of ‘I don’t give up fuck’ because unless they shot that thing up with everything you can shoot up with, which would hurt so bad, just the shooting up of it, a full Hell in a Cell match. They didn’t mail it in either. This shit was a full match. Seth Rollins lost to a guy with one fucking tit. I assume he’s getting surgery.”
