One week after the announcement that he was leaving AEW, Alan Angels will make his debut for Impact Wrestling tonight on the show “Impact on AXS TV”, in a title match against X-Division Champion Mike Bailey.
Last week, word came out that Colt Cabana’s contract with AEW expired on June 30th. He wasn’t having any hard feelings toward the company or its owner Tony Khan, who he says was the best wrestling company he’s ever worked for.
“I had a great time in AEW and would have loved to have stayed, but I am extremely excited for my future in pro wrestling,” Angels said on social media. “I am 24 and I look at this as my wrestling career just beginning. Now I get to show everyone how good I really am.”
Bailey defeated Trey Miguel at the latest Impact Wrestling event, which was the second of the series billed as Against All Odds.
Miguel and Laredo Kid will face off on tonight’s episode. They’ll go head-to-head in an intense one-on-one fight.
Tonight’s episode will also feature a match for the #1 contenders to the Knockouts Championship between Deonna Purrazzo and Mia Yim. Purrazzo had a 343-day reign as a champion before it ended last October. Yim wrestled in Impact earlier this year and was on her own following her departure from WWE late in 2021.
