n a major offseason move, the Los Angeles Rams have secured six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Davante Adams on a two-year contract, the team announced Sunday. The deal marks a fresh start for Adams as the Rams prepare for life after standout wide receiver Cooper Kupp.

Adams became available after the New York Jets released him on March 4, just weeks after the team parted ways with his former quarterback and longtime teammate, Aaron Rodgers. The Jets’ decision to release Adams provided significant cap relief, clearing $29.9 million for the upcoming season.

Details of Adams’ Contract

Adams’ new deal with the Rams includes an $8 million base salary in 2025 and $16 million in 2026. His 2025 salary is fully guaranteed, along with a $6 million roster bonus due on the third day of the 2026 league year. The contract also includes a $12 million signing bonus and an additional $1 million in annual incentives.

Prior to his release, Adams carried a massive $38.3 million cap hit for the Jets in 2025, including $35.6 million in non-guaranteed base salary—an inherited contract from when the team acquired him from the Las Vegas Raiders in October for a 2025 third-round pick.

A Look at Adams’ Performance

Despite a slow start with the Jets, Adams found his rhythm late in the season, finishing with 67 catches for 854 yards and seven touchdowns in 11 games. His standout performance came in a victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he recorded nine receptions for 198 yards. Combining his production with the Raiders, Adams surpassed the 1,000-yard mark for the fifth consecutive season.

At 32 years old, Adams remains one of the league’s elite wide receivers. Over his 11-year career, he has amassed 957 receptions, 11,844 receiving yards, and 103 touchdowns. Drafted in the second round by the Green Bay Packers in 2014, Adams became one of the franchise’s all-time greats, ranking second in touchdown receptions (93) and total catches (669), while sitting fourth in receiving yards (8,121).

Rams’ Offensive Shake-Up

The addition of Adams signals a new direction for the Rams’ offense, particularly as they move on from Kupp, who has been a key part of the team’s passing attack in recent years. Pairing Adams with quarterback Matthew Stafford gives Los Angeles an elite weapon as they aim for a deep playoff run.

As free agency continues, the Rams’ latest acquisition proves they are committed to remaining a top contender in the NFC. With Adams now in the mix, all eyes will be on how quickly he adapts to Sean McVay’s offensive system and whether he can replicate the All-Pro success that has defined his career.
