#5. Rey Mysterio Ascends as United States Champion:
In an astonishing turn of events on WWE SmackDown, Rey Mysterio etched his name in the annals of wrestling history by capturing the United States Championship. The stage was set for Austin Theory, the reigning champion, to defend his title against Santos Escobar. However, Theory had different intentions, initiating a backstage assault on Escobar before their scheduled match.

Despite the ambush, Escobar displayed unwavering determination, emerging for the contest. Theory’s aggression persisted as he launched another ambush on Escobar, coercing the referee to contemplate a count-out victory. Yet, an unexpected twist unfolded under the purview of Adam Pearce, who sanctioned the replacement of Escobar with the venerable Rey Mysterio for the championship bout.
As the match progressed, the expected outcome of a triumphant Austin Theory seemed imminent. Nevertheless, WWE’s intricate storytelling took center stage, defying the anticipated narrative. Rey Mysterio, a revered Hall of Famer, defied the odds by executing his iconic 619 maneuver followed by a resounding Splash, securing a victorious triumph.

#4. Nia Jax Eyes WWE Return with a Target: Rhea Ripley
Former WWE standout Nia Jax, released in 2021, contemplates a potential return to the ring, with a specific opponent in her crosshairs. Rhea Ripley, victor of the 2023 Women’s Royal Rumble, stands as Jax’s desired adversary. In conversation, Jax emphasized her interest in facing Ripley:
“I think Becky’s doing her own thing with Trish [Stratus], and I think that’s good. I love Trish. Yeah [surprised Stratus returned]. Trish, honestly, she looks incredible. She’s ageless, I’m jealous of her. Rhea’s doing a great job. She’s kind of on this rise. She might need to be knocked down a couple of pegs.”
Nia Jax remains one of the select individuals with the capacity to challenge Ripley’s prowess. A potential rivalry between these formidable women holds promise for the World Women’s Championship scene.
#3. WWE Veteran Extends Partnership Offer to Chelsea Green
Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville secured the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship by dethroning Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez a few weeks back. Their reign was taking off when a non-title bout saw them fall to Bianca Belair and Charlotte Flair.
However, a twist of fate struck as Sonya Deville encountered an ACL injury during the match. This misfortune might compel the duo to consider relinquishing their newly won title soon.
As they ponder relinquishing the title, Green decided to find a new partner and called for applications. In an amusing twist, R-Truth, a former 24/7 Champion, humorously responded to Green’s call on social media.
“Hey, what’s up, Chelsea? I heard you were having an audition. I heard about that, girl. Pick me. I do a lot of stuff. I tell jokes, I dance, I rap, I sing, I play the harmonica, I play the piccolo, pickleball. I even kill spiders on occasion. Not all spiders, Charlotte’s Web was a good one. I’m working my way back to the ring and I need something to do. You already got the Women’s Tag Title. Let me be your partner until your partner comes back.”
Truth’s inclusion could bring a fresh dynamic to the title picture and offer him more memorable moments in WWE.
#2. It’s expected that Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will keep the Undisputed Tag Team titles.
A few weeks ago, Judgement Day hurt Kevin Owens on TV. The segment was scheduled to give Owens some time away from the ring because it was noted that he had a rib ailment.
JD McDonagh attacked Sami Zayn behind the scenes of RAW the previous week. Zayn suffered an elbow injury as a result of the angle. However, it appears that he had an earlier injury, and the segment was planned to write him off for a while as well.
Sami Zayn has bursitis, or an infection of the bursa sac, claims Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. According to the source, despite the fact that both champions are sidelined due to injury, their crowns will not be revoked.
“Zayn has an elbow swollen like a golf ball which is why they did the angle on RAW where Judgment Day took him out. The injury that would cause that would be bursitis or a bursa sac infection. Owens is injured as well but he was given time off to let his broken rib get a rest and the plan wasn’t to take the tag titles off them,” said Meltzer.

Expect Zayn and Owens to make a quick comeback to the ring. It will be enjoyable to watch them resume their feud to contend for the Undisputed Tag Team Championships shortly.

Following the recent implosion of The Bloodline, this week’s SmackDown delivered an intense scene where Jey Uso left a mark by taking down everyone before seemingly “quitting” WWE. However, it seems that the story might take an unexpected turn in the near future.
Rikishi, known for his involvement in the wrestling world, created a buzz on Twitter when he hinted at a potential upcoming match. He claimed that he would serve as the special guest referee in a bout between Jey and Jimmy at the upcoming Premium Live Event scheduled for next month in Pittsburgh. Interestingly, the post revealing this potential spoiler was swiftly removed by the former Intercontinental Champion, WWE Payback. Speculating a special guest referee role for himself, Rikishi’s tweet added an unforeseen layer to the evolving storyline. Although the tweet was promptly deleted, it raised questions about the future of The Bloodline and their dynamics.
In a subsequent post, Rikishi clarified that the revelation was an unintentional error on his part. He attributed it to a “mistake” by the promoter, adding that he is preparing for a rare public appearance.
“Wrong promoter mistake.”
The details remain somewhat blurry, leaving fans to ponder whether the promoter’s slip-up was the result of disclosing an upcoming match or if there’s a deeper storyline brewing within The Bloodline.
