Riddle is expected to return in the ring at two WWE live events this weekend.
Prior to this announcement
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Rusev will wrestle Seth Rollins at the “Saturday Night’s Main Event” show in North Charleston, SC, and then wrestle him again on the 7/25 “WWERaw” episode.
Prior to this announcement, there was concern about Rusev’s availability due to his storyline injury on the 7/25 “WWE Raw” when he got beat up by Sheamus.
Clash of the Champions
The upcoming date for SummerSlam is up in the air. Nothing has been stated by WWE yet, other than it will be during their next show which is likely to be at the Clash of the Champions or Wrestlemania 33.
Appearance on Monday Night Raw
After injuring himself during a match, Riddle appeared on WWE Monday Night Raw last week to call out Rollins.
While he came across as brave, it ended up with him getting pinned by Rollins for the third time this year. On Raw, he was mocked for crossing the ‘very thin line’ and too often bragging about his accomplishments on TV.
With Riddle set to return to action this weekend, it’s likely he will also appear on the 8/8 “WWE Raw” in Cleveland, OH.
There is a possibility that this rivalry will continue for several more months.
The match has been advertised as the main event for WWE Raw at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, however it’s possible that the match will be a dark main event and two wrestlers will have moved on to other feuds.
There is also a real-life element of animosity in the rivalry. As Rollins alluded to last month via a tweet.
