WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns was present for The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday.
He was asked to speak about Triple H’s decision to retire from the ring Reigns thanked The Game for always being there for him.
H was a huge part of this process, helping to aid me in my journey. Before meeting Vince McMahon, and forged a relationship with Vince the name is Triple H. He was the person in development, helping steer talent. He was the one who snuck in all the other things. Today, the developmental platform is NXT, and is a fantastic platform for us. And they’ve got a massive show for themselves. In the past, they were called FCW which was staged in a small warehouse. We would be slaying each another in the presence of 50 people for what seemed like nothing at the moment. However, Triple H was crucial in guiding me through.
When asked whether Triple H always had faith in his abilities Reigns recalled a tale from his early days in WWE.
In the beginning, I was the one who demanded increments. Every couple of weeks, I’d say can I earn an increase in salary? and they’d respond Yes Sure, definitely. However, there was a time when they said”No. Then I asked, ‘Can you request Triple H?’ And the next day I was told that you’ve been given an increase.
H has always kept me in the loop and has always looked out for me. In and out of the arena, H is just the greatest.
Reigns also emphasized his match with Brock Lesnar this Sunday at WrestleMania 38 as you can see in this video. Reigns stated his belief that it’s time to end this chapter [of Lesnar’s] and continue on.
I’ve had the hunt of my life, and I’ve established myself as the best modern-day wrestler of all time in WWE. For me to move over this particular section in the story of Brock Lesnar, I think that puts me on a level which no other wrestler can match.
“It’s checkmate. It’s time to close this chapter and move on.”
