WWE fans went wild when the former UFC champion, Brock Lesnar, broke into SmackDown to confront Roman Reigns the evening of a couple of weeks ago. Nobody on earth could have predicted that he would emerge as his next opponent, but that is exactly what happened.
The last time we saw a Brock Lesnar-Roman Reigns match was at WrestleMania 38, which was a contest held to unify the two world titles in the company. Thanks to Paul Heyman, it was Reigns who prevailed that night and became the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
We’ll be seeing a new ending at Summerville. The Beast and The Tribal Chief have both been booked for a Last Man Standing match, so fans ought to expect an outcome with one man being put down for good.
In no way does this indicate that the weekly over-hyped pay-per-view is getting a bit stale. There are many ways to make it fresh, fun, and exciting. The following three ideas will hopefully be welcomed by fans and delivered on the grand stage of SummerSlam.
On our list of unlikely endings for Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns that would surprise everyone: A disqualification
This match has No Disqualification rules and WWE isn’t afraid of bending the rules to suit their narrative. The infamous Hell in a Cell match between Seth Rollins and ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt is a direct example of this.
There, Roman Reigns lost the match via disqualification for being too physically violent, despite the stipulation allowing competitors to do anything they want. The company could protect both Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns by repeating this trick. It would surprise fans for sure and that’s not a compliment. For the sake of the quality of the match and common sense itself, we sincerely hope they don’t.
Drew McIntyre attacks Lesnar and costs him the match
Created by a machine, the Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns match will happen at this SummerSlam. Defending champion Drew McIntyre, who was knocked out of the title picture by Lesnar, will face him for a shot at retaining his belt and the opportunity to face Lesnar at Clash of the Champions.
Beginning his path to the WWE title, with a long and arduous journey, McIntyre would not have been happy when he showed up at SummerSlam and was handed the match. With the possibility of The Conqueror showing up, it would make sense for McIntyre to interfere and put Reigns out of commission, ensuring a clear path when they finally lock horns at WrestleMania.”
