Bill Goldberg will return to WWE and will take on Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship in the Elimination Chamber 2022. The event is scheduled for February. 19, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Goldberg, as well as Reigns, were originally scheduled to compete against each other for the identical title in WrestleMania 36. However, Reigns was substituted in the match by Braun Strowman in the last moment switch due to the outbreak of coronavirus.
Goldberg was unsuccessful in winning the WWE Championship on two occasions in the year prior. Goldberg last wrestled for WWE on October 5 at the Crown Jewel 2021. This match was also held in Saudi Arabia, where he defeated Bobby Lashley. Goldberg is thought to be in the middle of a special agreement for the events that are held in Saudi Arabia. Based on his own statements it is likely to be the last match of Goldberg’s deal with WWE.
