After the passing of its most significant figure in decades, Triple H has taken the WWE reins. The King of Kings is at the heart of why RAW and SmackDown! are not just surviving but thriving as he brings fresh new blood and talent to shape WWE‘s (WWE) main roster in his vision. It seems like that momentum won’t be changing any time soon, as two more NXT prospects that were released among the heavy cuts could be back on WWE programming sooner than later.
Heading Back To WWE
One of the rumored duos heading back to WWE is Chelsea Green. According to Dave Meltzer, on his most recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Green’s return has been “wrestle with it always being a possibility”. It’s said that Green’s return is “being said as if it was a done deal inside WWE”. Though Meltzer doesn’t have the information to confirm that she has signed a contract, he “can confirm” that discussions about her return have taken place within the company.
A Few Months Later
Green returned to NGW in 2018 after an extensive tryout. The Houserockers member calls up to NXT, and in 2019 she participated in the inaugural Saudi Arabia tournament, where she won the championship. However, Green struggled on the main roster with injury. A few months later, she releases by her WWE in April 2021. Since then, Green has appeared infrequent IMPACT episodes and seen success with Deonna Purrazzo at the Knockouts Tag Team Championships, and started a new reign with Pasion Demon of their own company GCW. Recently, Green exited from IMPACT television for good.
There have been numerous rumors of Bronson Reed returning in WWE recently. There was also an episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that mentioned JONAH has offers from both WWE and New Japan Pro Wrestling. Currently he is a part of New Japan Pro Wrestling so it’s unsure whether his status would be a little more up in the air.
When Reed retired, he positione very highly within NXT as a prospect for the developmental brand under Triple H’s direction. First signing in 2019, Reed debuted in the year’s Breakout Tournament and later dethroned Johnny Gargano to claim the NXT North American Championship before his release in August 2021. Since his departure, JONAH found success in IMPACT with a monster run and has appeared on both NJPW USA and Japan television programs, defeating Kazuchika Okada at the G1 Climax.
