Sasha Banks believes she will wrestle the IMPACT Knockouts World Champion Mickie James at some point in the near future.
This week, Banks shared a picture of her in the crowd with WWE Superstars from the past Mickie James and Melina, both of whom participated in the previous month’s 30Woman Royal Rumble.
In response in response to the tweet a fan wondered if we’d be able to witness Banks against. James in a 1-on-1 match. Banks promised the person that “it will” occur in the near future.
In late 2018 Banks & Bayley were in an uneasy relationship in late 2018 with James & Alicia Fox. In the other time frame, Banks along with James were engaged in multiple multi-woman match-ups and never faced off in a singles competition.
It’s unclear if the WWE-IMPACT partnership was a one-and done deal for the Rumble or whether James may make further WWE appearances. On the Ariel Helwani Showlast month, James revealed that WWE Talent Relations Director John Laurinaitis reached out to Impact EVP Scott D’Amore to discuss the possibility of her Rumble return. During the interview James expressed interest in more work in conjunction with WWE.
In the meantime, Melina shared an emotional Instagram post in which she thanked Banks for having given her “a unforgettable moment” during the Rumble. Melina also shared the reasons the reasons she was contemplating having a singles contest against Sasha Banks.
