Seth Rollins failed to secure a match at WWE WrestleMania, but he promised that he would make it happen next week.
For weeks, WWE has been pushing that Rollins does not have a path to WrestleMania. He would have been allowed to the show if Kevin Owens defeated him last week, but that didn’t happen.
Rollins managed to get a match with AJ Styles on this week’s episode. If Rollins wins this match, he would then face Edge at WrestleMania. He was disqualified when Edge attacked Styles with a steel chair and went to ringside.
Rollins was furious and declared that this was “bulls*t” that Raw would not take place next week until he has his match for WrestleMania. He destroyed the ringside area, prompting fans to cheer for Cody Rhodes.
Fans who attend shows know that it will be Rollins against Rhodes. There were also louder chants for Cody during the show. Rollins acknowledged the chants and referred to “rumors.” Rollins also said that Cody was mentioned earlier in the show when fans shouted for him:
Rumors are a lot of fun, but rumors don’t make moments, and I am living for my WrestleMania moment.
Although it seems possible that Cody will be on next week’s show, Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio:
WWE has been considering holding off on Cody’s appearance until WrestleMania, similar to how the Hardy’s returned at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando
