Despite having already wrestled a match against Bronson Reed earlier that night, Nakamura stepped in to assist the duo. However, it became apparent that his involvement was part of a setup to target Rollins after the match.

WWE’s official preview for the upcoming Monday Night RAW featured the caption “Why Shinsuke Why?!”, indicating the curiosity surrounding Nakamura’s motives. Seth Rollins himself has also demanded answers, responding to the preview tweet with the comment “Do tell.”

Interestingly, Nakamura and Rollins have crossed paths in the ring on two previous occasions during premium live events. Their first encounter occurred at Survivor Series 2018, where they faced off in a Champion vs. Champion match, resulting in Rollins emerging victorious. The two wrestlers clashed again at Fastlane 2021, with Rollins once again securing a win over Shinsuke Nakamura.
