SmackDown Preview: SummerSlam Fallout, Clash at The Castle Build
SHARE
The post-SummerSlam edition of WWE SmackDown on FOX will air live tonight from the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina
WWE has not announced any matches or segments for tonight’s SmackDown, though it looks like the build to the Clash of The Champions will begin as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reign-Irrman and Drew McInness are both advertised by The WWE Events website.
WWE‘s website features ads for the Usos vs. Theory, Lashley vs. Theory, Reigns, The Usos, McIntyre, Sheamus, Natalya and Ricochet. They also indicate that RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair will be appearing at this event.

One of WWE‘s goals at SummerSlam was to retain Liv Morgan’s SmackDown Women’s Title while protecting Ronda Rousey in the event of a loss.
Their match at SummerSlam was a quick one-sided swipe on Rousey that caused Morgan to fold, but the referee dismissed the call and counted Ronda’s shoulder first to the mat.
Rhonda legitimately snapped into the match and attacked Morgan and the crappy referee. As a result, Rousey is suspended and she will miss tonight’s episode of SmackDown.
This leaves the spotlight on Liv Morgan, who must address the finish of her match with Rousey. Everyone who watched SummerSlam knows that Liv shouldn’t be the champion right now.
In an online-exclusive interview following her SummerSlam match, Morgan completely ignored the controversial finish and her tap out, while asserting how proud she is of doing exactly what she said she would do.
Unless Morgan is going heel, it’s a strange approach to pretend like everything is fine and she was the better wrestler at SummerSlam.
As for Rhonda, it looks like she’s booked for Clash at the Castle in September, so the suspension probably won’t last too long.・I’m taking a break from the devil’s pranks.
What’s Next for Liv Morgan?
With her controversial victory at SummerSlam, Liv Morgan has moved on to the next challenge. Ronda Rousey was suspended from SmackDown this week due to her actions and will have to compete for the title again soon.
