Eric Young, who used to be a WWE Superstar, talked about why he left the company.
Before his deal with the Stamford-based promotion ended in 2020, the 43-year-old had been a part of it for almost four years. At the end of 2022, Triple H brought him back “in secret,” but he never showed up for the company. It was reported a few days ago that Eric asked to be let go because he didn’t want to work with Vince McMahon.
During a conversation with Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Young finally talked about being let go. The former WWE star made it clear that he didn’t want to work with McMahon.
“I signed up for one thing and it turned into something completely different. Personally, professionally, and more importantly for me, morally, I just couldn’t work there anymore. If you’re a wrestling fan and you know what’s going on, it was not a super difficult choice for me, to be honest. It was a dream come true, going back, the contract was fantastic and all this other stuff, and what I was poised to do on the TV show was excellent, but in the end, I would have had to answer to somebody that I’m just not willing to do.”

Before Eric Young was let go, WWE was said to have big plans for him
Eric Young told Mike Johnson in an interview that what he was about to do on the TV show was “excellent,” and a recent story said the same thing.
Fightful Select claims the 43-year-old was meant to join Bray Wyatt’s new gang, Uncle Howdy. Before his break, the Eater of the Worlds considered pairing with Alexa Bliss.
Young, 43, is happy to return to Impact Wrestling after leaving WWE, but plans can’t happen. At Slammiversary, he and Scott D’Amore defeated Bully Ray and Deaner in a tag team match.
