Risks abound in professional wrestling, particularly in risky contests like ladder matches. Buddy Matthews had a separated shoulder during last night’s ladder match for the mask of Andrade El Idolo on “AEW Collision,” but the bout continued after a ringside doctor had his appendage put back in place.
Never doubt if I’m giving it my all, Matthews wrote on Twitter while posting a GIF of his horrific treatment. Despite the ringside doctor’s assistance and Julia Hart’s assistance inside the ring, Matthews ultimately failed. This effort backfired when Matthews found himself chained to the ropes. While Matthews watched helplessly, Andrade defeated House of Black and regained the mask that had been taken from him.
Despite the unfortunate conclusion, Matthews’ spirit of perseverance supports a recent interview with Malakai Black. The House of Black leader thinks that Matthews’ talent and tenacity have been overlooked by fans.
Black said recently.

“When it comes to the sheer ability and athleticism, I think Buddy Matthews is one of the best in this current era, And not because we’re in a group, not because he’s one of my best friends, but just from a pro wrestling standpoint from being in the ring with him.”
Matthews attributes his talent to House of Black’s culture of perfectionism.
“We’re all perfectionists,” Matthews said recently. “We’re looking for the best outcome. If anyone, you know, goes off track, we will police ourselves and get the other one back, whether it’s Brody, myself, or Malakai.”
He proved his mettle. It looked bad on television. I thought Doc Sampson would call it. But, it continued and he was able to use the arm again. He and Andrade are real pros who worked a difficult, hard-hitting match
